The Last Week John 12-17 March 26, 2023
Each of the four Gospels cover the last week of Jesus’s life extensively. One third of Matthew and Mark, One fourth of Luke and One half of John. But all four present the same Person: The God-Man, Servant of the Lord, King of Israel, Humanity’s Redeemer-Jesus Christ.
John records things Jesus said rather than things Jesus did.
1. A New Commandment. John 13:34-35
2. Jesus is the Way, Truth, and Life. John 14:1-6
3. The Promise of Answered Prayer. John 14:12-14
4. The Promise of Holy Spirit. John 14:15-18
Holy Spirit will teach us all things-John 14:25
Holy Spirit will testify of Jesus-John 15:26-27
Holy Spirit will guide us into all truth. John 16:13
5. Jesus is the True Vine. John 15:1-8
Bearing fruit is the result of obedience to the Word of God and Holy Spirit’s promptings.
Bearing fruit requires total surrender of our will to His Will.
6. The Reward of Endurance. John 16:21-24
