What responsibilities do platforms like Spotify have to ensure what they host isn't potentially dangerous?

Second Gadget of the Week Pocketalk S. This pocket sized translator connects to the internet either over wifi or via a sim card, which is supplied with two years' data allowance, and can translate over 80 languages by simply speaking into it or by pointing the inbuilt camera at some text and its touch sensitive screen. With 4.5 hours' translation time and 2.5 day standby time on a charge, this is an ingenious gadget that scored 3.5 out of 5
