We’re talking about cars like the AMC Matador, Pontiac Aztek, Plymouth Breeze and the Reliant K cars from Chrysler (to name a few). One undeniable fact however is that these cars were at one point purchased new and loved by their owners, and in some cases, they’ve even developed a fan base.

Alan Galbraith recognized this, then took it upon himself to create Concours d’Lemons, a show that celebrates the odd, unwanted and the unreliable, and the people who love them. On this episode of the Hemmings Hot Rod BBQ, Alan walks us through the genesis of the Concours and how it came to find a place alongside some of the most exclusive automotive events in the world.
