Tom Cotter is a well-known comedian who rose to fame after finishing as the runner-up and being named Breakout Star on Season 7 of "America's Got Talent." Despite losing to a dog act, Tom made history by becoming the first comedian ever to reach the finals and the highest-finishing human being on the show that year.

In August 2013, Tom was invited back to AGT to perform as a special guest star along with Train. He also hosted “The Season 8 AGT Snapple Viewing Party.”

In January 2019, Tom was again invited back to the AGT stage to compete against the best “Got Talent” performers from other years and around the world in “America’s Got Talent: The Champions.” His performance received a standing ovation from the audience, making it one of the most talked-about sets of the competition.

Tom has also appeared on several other TV shows such as "The Tonight Show," "Last Comic Standing," and "Comedy Central Presents... Tom Cotter." He was a celebrity host of “Gotham Comedy Live” on AXS-TV and made multiple appearances on CBS’ "The Late Late Show." He has also been a guest on "The Howard Stern Show" and "Comics Unleashed."

Tom is a well-known comedian who has headlined in many of America's most famous comedy clubs like The Comedy Cellar, The Improv, and Caroline's On Broadway. He has also been featured in popular comedy festivals such as the Montreal "Just For Laughs" Festival and the HBO Comedy Arts Festival. Tom has even headlined the "America's Got Talent Live" show at the Palazzo in Las Vegas. Recently, he was a part of the Friars Club Roast of Boomer Esiason at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City. Tom is a regular on Fox News Channel and has also co-starred in an episode of CBS' "The Good Wife."

Apart from performing in various venues across America, Tom's appeal is international. He has performed in countries like Alaska and China. He was even summoned to London to tour and perform on British television. Tom is an award-winning comedian, having won The Seattle International Stand-Up Comedy Competition and the Boston Comedy Festival. The Boston Herald noted that he won by the largest margin of victory in the event's history.

Tom is an author too. He came out with his first book in February 2016, called "Bad Dad: A Guide to Pitiful Parenting" (Willow Street Press). It is a collection of jokes, gags, one-liners, and pithy bad advice for fed-up parents everywhere. Tom's versatility in comedy has allowed him to excel in other areas of showbiz as well, such as voice-overs and acting.
