When you think of story telling, that’s what writers do. And four long time Chicago sports writers shared some fascinating stories over the course of their careers. Coincidentally, all four worked for the Chicago Tribune during their careers. Rick Morrissey is currently a columnist for the rival Sun Times and he relates an episode involving a line drive and his computer. Harrowing, yes and hilarious just the same. Teddy Greenstein, now a senior editor at PointsBet, discussed several run-ins with the rather tempestuous Sammy Sosa. David Haugh, co-host on WSCR The Score’s morning show, recalls stories with two legendary baseball stars, one from the Cubs and the other from the White Sox. And Bob Sakamoto, recently retired from his role as assistant athletic communications director at DePaul University, digs back for an encounter he had during the 1987 NBA finals with a red hot movie star.
