Perfect unity begins in heaven in the relationship between the Father and the Son. It’s a unity where we become so one with Jesus what we are in unity with Him with every step as He is in unity with the Father. But it’s also a unity with one another where we don’t just operate in this unity with God as individuals, but as a family. We can’t have true unity in our relationships on the earth unless it begins in that relationship. Any kind of unity on earth where we have to withhold from our relationship with God and operate outside of the counsel of the Holy Spirit, the standard of Jesus, or the Word of the Father is counterfeit unity and will produce no lasting fruit.
