TITLE: Unity is Found Through Humility TEXT: Philippians 2 Big Ideas from Sunday's Message: I. UNITY (Philippians 2:1-2) 1. Same LOVE 2. Same SPIRIT 3. Same MIND II. HUMILITY (Philippians 2:3-11) The problem with pride is that you can easily see it IN OTHER PEOPLE… but it’s almost impossible to see it IN THE MIRROR. This most significant thing Jesus did was that he INITIATED reconciliation. Pride says, “WAIT.” Jesus says, “INITIATE.” If Jesus has clearly commanded it- you don’t need to pray about it! III. SHINE Like Stars (Philippians 2:14-18) Once you place your faith in Jesus Christ, you are good with God and God is good with you! The Way of Jesus is centered on the YOU beside YOU. Following Jesus is an invitation to leave behind a religion that is centered on YOU to a model that is centered on the YOU beside YOU The Jesus model is less COMPLICATED; but it is FAR MORE DEMANDING! In most situations, we intuitively know the answer to the question: “What does love require of me?” This is the heart and the essence of Christianity.
