What paranormal event unfolded as one child stayed home alone for the first time in their life?

“I am an only child, so it was just me and my mom and dad living here. I was about 10 when they decided they could leave me at home alone while they went grocery shopping about 5 minutes down the road, I remember it was already dark outside when they left so I cuddled up on our couch and turned on the tv. I was watching probably SpongeBob or some other (awesome) cartoon that was on at the time. When suddenly in my right peripheral I saw something moving at the end of the hall. I looked over from the tv and just saw this white sort of misty figure standing right outside of my parents’ room. I kind of just sat there stared at it for a minute and even though I could not see any kind of features I could tell it was a male figure and he was staring right back at me. He then seemed to put his finger up to his lips doing the "shh" motion then just turned and walked into my parents’ room.”
