Hello again Racing Ears,
Here is a great episode where it is just Rick Knoop and I. Rick was great to come on the show again to discuss his trip to Pontiac Michigan for the week of September 27th 2021. He shared a little bit of what is "on tap" for this particular trip to the M1 Concourse in Pontiac Michigan.
Then Rick shared a little bit of his longtime friendship with Judy Stropus and what her contributions mean to motorsports history. Judy Stropus will be honored next week when she will be inducted into the Motorsports Hall of Fame. Judy Stropus is known for innovating timing and scoring before modern day transponders. Her disciplined focus and dedication is legendary in motorsports.
Then Rick and I discussed his love for a certain race track in a certain state in a certain town that is next to a certain lake. Road America in Elkart Lake Wisconsin is a race track that I hope to visit one day. Rick won his first race in a GTU Mazda RX7 at the 1979 Pabst Blue Ribbon 500. Rick has a special place in his heart for this iconic race track in the heart of America's heartland.
