Are you open-minded? How you answer that question may be an indication. In this episode Tiff and I explore the forces that shape how we see the world, many of which you may be unaware of. We talk about how one person’s reality is not necessarily the same as another’s. One of the reasons why we need to appreciate paradox.

When we are willing to acknowledge that (although it’s sometimes uncomfortable) many aspects of life have a dynamic complexity, our potential for learning expands, as does our experiences. Yes, two things can be true at the same time.

The more we understand this, the more we can expand our world, while at the same time lessoning the frequency and intensity at which we feel triggered by views that we believe threaten our mental models. One example of this that came up during the show was privilege. When we talk about privilege, what exactly does that mean? Equally important, what does it not?

If we can better understand one another, we can elevate each other.
