In this episode, I'm talking with Lane Kawaoka, the Real Estate 'Anti-Guru', and ex-engineer who successfully escaped the rate race by building a rental real estate empire.
Lane started off following the usual education → corporate route but, after some saving and investing, found happiness and balance at a lower paying job with the thousands of dollars from his passive real estate investments.
In our conversation we discuss matters such as:
- the importance of cashflow over asset appreciation
- why you should get as close to your deals as possible; and
- the scarcity vs abundant mindset
There is even a discussion around whether it's possible or not for everyone to be financially free.
