Nselaa Ward speaks about Human Resilience: From Sex Worker to Juris Doctor and Human Rights Activist. Nselaa Ward was a sex worker who became a Juris Doctor of law, a business architect and human rights activist especially during Black Lives Matter. She has been seen on television stations like TLC, CNN, C-SPAN, BET and is a TEDx speaker. She was also on the stage of the March for Women’s Lives, the largest march in the history of the US for its time. Nselaa conducts training, research, and action on issues around the Black Lives Matter movement, women in leadership, the Me Too movement, building a financial legacy, the entrepreneurial ecosystem, and resilience in devastation.

Nselaa is also one of the top female slam poets in the world, and considers herself a professional troublemaker for the National Organization for Women which is the largest women’s organization in the world. As the founder of the “What a Superhero Looks Like” movement, in a climate where hostility and aggression are rising across the nation, Nselaa Ward provides a full experience to help her audience be their own rescuer.

In this episode we will talk about…

- Nselaa’s inspiring and unique journey of going from bars to bars to bars - a passion-filled, real-life story of going from being a sex worker to an attorney and business owner.

- Examining Dr. Joy DeGruy’s concept of PTSD, Post Traumatic Slave Disorder, also known as PTSS and the ripple effects of oppression on our inner being.

- The 3 roadblocks of self-sabotage on the way towards true success in your professional life.

- The nature of human resilience and how to break free from the cycle of victimization to create life on your own terms.

- Stepping up as your inner leader in work and in life when engaged with hostility in your environment

- How to cultivate hope daily and thrive within a larger system that seems broken and unfixable

- Inspirational slam poetry from Nselaa Ward
