With everybody just throwing ChatGPT and its brethren at any given problem in high hopes of a miracle solution. The AI revolution is in full swing. But does this really take us all the way to the promised land of not having to do repetitive work anymore?
In this episode, your host Christian Krug has a conversation with Laura Madsen, Chief Blow Shit Up Officer at Moxy Analytics.
The AI struggle begins already in the first place. Your definition of AI! Because we all associate different technologies or solutions with that term. And with everybody beating around the bush with the buzzword, not admitting, they have no clue, we have come to a point where AI washing is all around.
Solution and software vendors claim their tools are incorporating AI just to get better sales figures. Unfortunately, it works all too well.
So if we are confronted with AI we should have a closer look at what’s really inside and if it’s necessary to get the job done.
On the other hand, not every company out there has to become an AI company now. You can very conveniently stick to your current business model and implement AI for some of your processes to get support there. Just like digitalization did change quite some processes and companies, AI will do quite soon.
Just keep in mind that good AI starts with good Data! There is no way around this. Each model can only be as good as the data you fed in. We have comer from “shit in, shit out” to “shit in, bullshit” out.
But what does this mean to the data people? You are the frontrunners of the AI implementations and Governance is key. So if you did your “homework” over the last decades and built up a solid data repository or warehouse, you have a great starting point. Then you need to tackle the topic of unstructured data and you are almost good to go.
For all the others: It’s high time to catch up if you do not want to perish!
