Good morning, New York City! This is your weather update for today.
We've got a Winter Storm Watch in effect, so buckle up for some chilly conditions. Today's forecast is looking mostly sunny, but don't let that fool you. Temperatures will drop to around 34 degrees Fahrenheit by late afternoon, with wind chill values making it feel more like 25 to 30 degrees. Those northwest winds are no joke, blowing at 13 to 18 miles per hour, with gusts potentially reaching up to 34 miles per hour.
Tonight, expect partly cloudy skies with temperatures dipping down to around 28 degrees Fahrenheit. The wind chill will hover between 20 and 25 degrees, with northwest winds at 7 to 10 miles per hour.
Saturday brings a 30 percent chance of snow after 1 PM. It'll be mostly cloudy with a high near 35 degrees Fahrenheit. The wind will play musical chairs, starting northwest and shifting to southeast in the afternoon.
Saturday night is when things get interesting. Snow is likely before 1 AM, potentially mixing with sleet and freezing rain. We're looking at a low around 33 degrees Fahrenheit, with a possibility of 3 to 5 inches of snow and sleet accumulation.
Sunday continues the winter weather drama, with snow and sleet potentially mixed with rain in the morning. Temperatures will reach a high near 37 degrees Fahrenheit.
The rest of the week looks like a winter rollercoaster, with chances of snow and temperatures hovering in the mid-30s.
