Good News Church adheres to historical Christianity and agrees with ancient confessions such as the Apostle’s Creed. We believe that the Bible is primarily about the ”good news” that even though we are sinners, Jesus Christ came to live the perfect life that we could never live, and then die the death that we all deserve, so that by believing in his life, death, and resurrection we could be in a right relationship with God. That also explains why we chose the name.

When we started Good News Church, we had something very distinctive in mind. Our thinking was that Leesburg didn’t need another traditional church. There were plenty of great traditional churches in this area doing wonderful things. We felt that what was needed was a different kind of church. – A church that would reach a wider spectrum of people, especially the unchurched. – A church that is contemporary, relevant, open-armed and casual. – A church where no one is perfect, but everyone is s ...

In 1 Corinthians 13:5, love is described as keeping no record of wrongs, showing us the transformative power of forgiveness. Forgiveness is not about excusing hurtful actions but about choosing to let go of resentment and reflecting God’s grace. Holding onto offenses creates barriers in relationships, while forgiving brings healing and freedom. Thi…

Psalm 100 and Psalm 122 beautifully capture the joy and purpose of gathering for worship. Psalm 100 calls us to enter God’s presence with thanksgiving and praise, reminding us that worship is a celebration of who God is—our Creator, Shepherd, and King. Psalm 122 reflects the excitement of coming together in God’s house, where unity, prayer, and pea…

Glorifying God is the highest purpose of a Christian’s life, as Paul reminds us in 1 Corinthians 10:31: “Whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” Glorifying God means reflecting His character in our actions, words, and attitudes, pointing others to His greatness and love. It’s about living with humility, obedience,…

The Christmas story reveals Jesus as the ultimate gift—one that continues to give beyond the manger. In John 3:16, we’re reminded that God gave His Son out of love for the world, offering us forgiveness, hope, and eternal life. Unlike earthly gifts that fade or lose value, the gift of Jesus grows sweeter and more meaningful with time. His love sust…

As Mary carries the Savior in her womb, Elizabeth’s child leaps, and both women are filled with awe and gratitude. This passage reminds us that the arrival of Jesus is cause for celebration, worship, and overflowing praise. True Christmas praise isn’t just ab…

As ambassadors of God’s kingdom, we are called to represent Christ in every aspect of our lives (2 Corinthians 5:20). Just as an ambassador speaks and acts on behalf of their leader, we are entrusted with sharing God’s message of reconciliation and love with the world. This role isn’t optional—it’s our identity as followers of Christ. This message …
