It's the ingredient that makes possible our cities, our science, our lives – and our future.

Beiser joins Niko Woischnik to talk about sand's profound importance across the globe and the serious human and environmental costs caused by our dependence on it. Additionally, he delves into some of his past reporting, including on soldiers training for the Iraq War and pop-up clinics in Mexico offering psychedelic therapy.
