Common Job Search Obstacle You Have the Power to Change
Hurts and bitterness can have an effect on us and everything we come into contact with. These can undermine the the very best job search.
We can’t run from our problems, because wherever we go, our problems go with us, because most of the time, our problem is us.
NLP: “Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) is an approach to communication, personal development, and psychotherapy created by Richard Bandler and John Grinder in California, United States in the 1970s. Its creators claim a connection between the neurological processes (“neuro”), language (“linguistic”) and behavioral patterns learned through experience (“programming”) and that these can be changed to achieve specific goals in life.” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neuro-linguistic_programming

Dogs sense fear! Well apparently so do we. Research by Rice University psychologist Denise Chen suggests a similar phenomenon occurs in humans. http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2009/03/090306142536.htm

On the podcast, I share a personal situation that created a wound that I needed to resolve before being able to move forward in my career.
My healing came from gratitude and forgiveness.
Here are a few steps to take toward overcoming hurts that may be holding you back.
- Be honest with yourself about your wounds.
- Acknowledge the impact they have had on you.
- Realize that you have the ability to choose how to interpret the situation.
- Move on and allow others to move on as well.
- Choose to remember the good in every situation.
Recap
Be honest with yourself about your wounds. Acknowledge the impact they have had on you. Realize that you have the ability to choose how to interpret the situation. Move on.
