CD#1625 “God’s Great Faithfulness and Our Response”

March 24, 2024 - VWC

Opening Thought:

As I was praying Sunday afternoon, the only word I got was “FAITHFULNESS”! After praying in the Spirit this is what came to my heart. We need to be reminded of just how faithful our God is to us everyday! But we too have from Him been given the measure of faith so we can properly respond to His faithfulness! Our God is the God of salvation and the God of all hope! We need to live with Bible hope in operation in our lives speaking by faith our salvation in and by His Word!

Text: Lamentations 3:21-26 (KJV) This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope. 22 It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. 23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. 24 The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him. 25 The Lord is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. 26 It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord.

Note V.23 “great is thy faithfulness” =

*Read 2 Thessalonians 3:1-5 (KJV) Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you: 2 And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith. 3 But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil. 4 And we have confidence in the Lord touching you, that ye both do and will do the things which we command you. 5 And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ.

Note V.3 “But the Lord is faithful” =

*Read Romans 10:8-13 (KJV) But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. 12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Note V.8 what's in your heart will get in your mouth! Remember back in the day when parents used to wash their kids' mouths out with soap? My grandmother Marine washed my dads mouth out with lye soap but it didn’t work because only the Lord Jesus Christ can wash the heart!

Close with Hebrews 10:22-23 (KJV) Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)

CD 1691 Claiming Christ’s Correction Secrets to Success Series - Week #1 With a raised hand: How many know that the Lord loves them? Did you know God gives us a sign of His love to us? Can you name some signs that God loves us? Can you name the most important sign of God’s love given to us His church AFTER THE CROSS? Look at this verse please as you open your Bible to Hebrews chapter 12: Bro. Jason on screen: Revelation 3:19 (KJV) As many as I love, I “rebuke” (convicted - John 8:9) and chasten (to train up a child by education and discipline): be zealous therefore, and repent. You just testified that the Lord loves you! So with that testimony you can “Claim Christ’s Correction”! Praise God we don’t have to walk in darkness and stay the same! God’s love letter to us is full of promises! But those promises will not do us any good unless we know them and learn how to claim them or appropriate them by faith! For instance Jesus tells His disciples that when the Holy Spirit will lead and guide into all truth (John 16:12-13). He told them He had much to say to them but they could not bear to hear it before the coming of the Comforter! Praise the Lord we are past Pentecost! *Text Hebrews 12:1-11 (KJV) Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, 2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds. 4 Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin. 5 And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him: 6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. 7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? 8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.9 Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live? 10 For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness.11 Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby. Paul explains that God's discipline is a sign of His love and commitment to our growth and holiness, and we should embrace it rather than resist it. Here in part Paul is pulling from the Old Testament: * Proverbs 3:11-12 (KJV) My son, despise not the chastening of the LORD; neither be weary of his correction: 12 For whom the LORD loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth. The Apostle Paul here in Hebrews makes it clear that “running the race with endurance” requires us being open to and receiving God's discipline, which is a sign of His love and commitment to our growth. In other words, we cannot ““run the race” well on our own strength or wisdom. We need God's guidance and correction to help us stay on the right path, avoid pitfalls, and grow in faith and character. This is why embracing “God's discipline”, rather than resisting it, is an e Support the show…

CD 1692 “Anger Management” - Secrets to Success Series - Week #2 *Text Mark 3:1-7 - Note Jesus was angry! Anger itself is not necessarily bad; it is not necessarily wrong. God himself gets angry. What we need to consider is the object of our anger, the motive for our anger, and the outcome of our anger. God’s anger, however, is directed against sin and unrighteousness. He blazes hot against evil. His anger, like ours, becomes a consuming fire, but its focus is to eradicate the sin so that the sinner can be restored. Read 1Peter 2:21-25 Read James 1:19-20 *Read Colossians 3:1-2 & 8-11 (KJV) Read Ephesians 4:26-27 Closing Illustration: Steve Tran of Westminster, California, wanted to kill the cockroaches in his apartment once and for all. So, he activated 25 bug bombs (even though the label said 2 should do the trick) and closed the door. The fumes reached the pilot light of his stove and created an explosion that sent his screen door across the street, broke all his windows, and caused $10,000 dollars worth of damage. Steve said, “I really wanted to kill all of them. I thought if I used a lot more, it would last longer.” By the way, Steve said he saw cockroaches again within a week. Support the show…

CD 1689 “Opening up God's Gift” 12-22-24 A.M. - “Christmas Message” Merry Christmas! I bless you in the name of the Lord this morning and I give God praise for His “Unspeakable Gift”! This morning let’s “Open up God's Gift” with His instructions so we can take full advantage of all He has given to us! *Read 2 Corinthians 9:15 (KJV) Thanks be unto God for His Unspeakable Gift. Note “Unspeakable” (an-ek-dee-ay'-gay-tos) that cannot be fully declared. Only here. Note “gift” (do-reh-ah' ) It cannot be that Paul had in his mind anything less than God’s supreme gift, the gift of His Son, of which he speaks in 2 Cor. 8:9. *Text John 4:1-10 (KJV) When therefore the Lord knew how the Pharisees had heard that Jesus made and baptized more disciples than John, 2 (Though Jesus himself baptized not, but his disciples,) 3 He left Judaea, and departed again into Galilee. 4 And he must needs go through Samaria. 5 Then cometh he to a city of Samaria, which is called Sychar, near to the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph. 6 Now Jacob's well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well: and it was about the sixth hour. 7 There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink. 8 (For his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat.) 9 Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans. 10 Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the “gift” of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water. #1 Redemption (Salvation) *Reread John 4:10 Jesus answered and said unto her, “If thou knewest” the “gift” of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water. Note “If thou knewest” - what you don’t know can get you killed! God told us His people are destroyed for lack of knowledge (Hosea 4:6)! Will you “Open up God's Gift” - Jesus the Living Word this morning? [Note the 8 “gifts” in this Gospel John 4:10; John 10:11; John 13:15; John 14:16, John 14:27; John 17:8, John 17:14, John 17:22).] We know that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23) and the wages of sin is death but the “gift of God” is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord (Romans 6:23)! Jesus made His way to this lady who needed something NO MAN could give her - she needed “Redemtion -Salvation” - “living water”! Turn with me to the Prophet Isaiah please. Isaiah's prophecies about the Messiah are numerous and detailed, covering everything from His birth (Isaiah 7:14) to His death (Isaiah 53) and His kingdom (Isaiah 9:6-7). The "Book of Immanuel" is a term used to describe a section of the Book of Isaiah, specifically chapters 7-12. *Read Isaiah 12:1-3 (KJV) And in that day thou shalt say, O Lord, I will praise thee: though thou wast angry with me, thine anger is turned away, and thou comfortedst me. 2 Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the Lord Jehovah is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation. 3 Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation. *Read John 7:37-39 (KJV) Back to John’s Gospel please: *Reread John 4:1-3 (KJV) When therefore the Lord knew how the Pharisees had heard that Jesus made and baptized more disciples than John, 2 (Though Jesus himself baptized not, but his disciples,) 3 He left Judaea, and Support the show…

Location: VICTORY WORSHIP CENTER ”For What is YOUR LIFE ” STARTER QUESTION : Have you ever asked yourself this question: Why am I here? What is this time really for between birth and death? *TEXT : James 4:13-5:8 – V.14 “ FOR WHAT IS YOUR LIFE ” – ! In James 4:13-5:8, we see two contrasting approaches to life that are shaped by who we are serving: 1️⃣ Serving Self (James 4:13-16): This passage warns against making plans without considering God's will and assuming that we have control over our lives. Instead, we're called to humble ourselves and acknowledge that God is the one who determines our future. 2️⃣ Serving God (James 5:1-8): In contrast, this passage speaks about the importance of aligning ourselves with God's values, including showing compassion to the poor and not prioritizing worldly wealth. It reminds us that our true treasures are found in heaven and encourages us to live in a way that reflects our faith. These contrasting sections highlight how our approach to life and our view of success are shaped by who or what we're serving. By choosing to serve God rather than ourselves or worldly desires, we can experience true fulfillment and make a lasting impact for His kingdom. #1 SOURCE of Life *READ Genesis 1:26-28, 2:7 – see John 1:1-4 & 10:10 (1 John 5:10-12). #2 SHORTNESS of Life *READ Psalms 90:10 – note to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord (2 Corinthians 5:8). * Matthew 6:27 says Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his “stature”? CD 1682 The New Normal (UNTHANKFULNESS Equals Unhappiness) First of all let me wish you a “Happy Thanksgiving Week 2024”! The devil is working hard to cause people to believe it is a new normal to be unhappy and have no reason to be “Thankful”! In the “WORLD HAPPINESS REPORT” the USA has fallen to #23! Why is that? Finland has been #1 for several years. They are 65% Christian and have an emphasis on others, on community instead of self! If there was a time to practice “Thankfulness”, it is now! We are living in a time like no other in my humble opinion of murmuring and grumbling stemming from not being “Thankful”! By the Holy Spirit the apostle Paul told us that society at the end of the age will become “UNTHANKFUL.” *Read 2 Timothy 3:1-2 (KJV) This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, … *Text 1 Thessalonians 5:1–7 &16-18 (KJV) But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. 2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. 3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. 4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. 5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. 6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. 7 For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. 16 Rejoice evermore. 17 Pray without ceasing. 18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. Note “In every thing give thanks” #2168 (yoo-khar-is-teh'-o) to be grateful, that is, (actually) to express gratitude (towards); specifically to say grace at a meal. Note the Word says “In every thing give thanks” - not for! Here εν (en) is a preposition in Greek translated “In” while more common prepositions for "FOR" in Greek are επι (epi) or δια (dia). So in the time just before the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ the Holy Spirit through the apostle Paul is admonishing us to “In every thing give thanks”! In the letter to Timothy he stated mankind would become “unthankful” and unholy! The word “unthankful” is a translation of the Greek word “ach-ar'-is-tos”. The word “ch-ar'-is-tos” on its own simply means “thankful”, but when an “a” is attached to the front of it, it reverses the condition and turns it into an attitude that is “unthankful”. It paints a picture of people who previously had a “thankful” heart but now are “unthankful”. They no longer focus on their blessings they have in their lives; instead, they fixate on what they don’t have. These are people who have become “unthankful” and who live their lives very unhappy. The only other place where the word “ach-ar'-is-tos” is found in the New Testament is where the focus is off self and on those who are in real need: *Luke 6:35 (KJV) But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil. Q. How? Luke 6:36 (KJV) Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful. Notice in this verse that the Lord Jesus connects “unthankfulness” with evil! This incredible truth teaches us that “unthankfulness” is evil in God’s sight Support the show…

CD 1677 “Yielding the SWORD of the Spirit” (November 17, 2024 A.M. Service) As blood bought and blood washed believers we have been called to stand for the Lord Jesus Christ before a lost and dying world. We must learn how to battle according to the Word of God. We have been called to fight the good fight of faith, but how do we do that? Knowledge is power and we have been given the Holy Spirit to lead us and guide us into all truth so we can utilize the authority that Jesus Christ has left His church! *See 1 Timothy 6:12 (KJV) Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. The Word of God tells us that we will have to “Fight the good fight of faith” - meaning “to contend with an adversary”! Our adversary is the devil and one of his names is death! He does not want anyone to “lay hold on eternal life”! But our “fight” will be about staying in the measure of “faith” God has dealt to every believer! We know the “faith” comes by our continual hearing of God’s Word (Romans 10:17)! But it takes more than just our hearing to learn how to “Yield the SWORD of the Spirit” and that is the core of our message this morning! *Text Hebrews 4:12 (KJV) For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. *Text Ephesians 6:11 & 17 (KJV) Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Note “the word of God” is “sharper than any twoedged sword” that is able to reveal what is spirit, soul or body! We, the children of God must learn how to “Yield the SWORD of the Spirit” so we can “Fight the good fight of faith”! You have to use the right medicine for the right thing in order for it to work! You must follow the right rules for the situation in order to find success! #1 Two Sources *Read John 10:7-10 (KJV) Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. 8 All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. 9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. 10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly *Read Ephesians 6:10-17 (KJV) Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: #2 Two Strategies *Read Proverbs 14:12 & 16:25 (KJV) There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof ar Support the show…
