Inverted Orthodoxy 364- Man born blind, The definition of Gods, and maybe more!
Manage episode 453848816 series 1453647
The guys are on a staff retreat! But we couldn't leave you without an episode. Kyle, Blake, and Doug discuss the following questions:
1. When in John 9, the disciples asked Jesus who had caused a man to be born blind, how could they presume that it might have been the man that had sinned if he was born that way? Did they think that it was possible for God to pre-determine whether someone was going to be sinful? I don’t understand their thinking behind this, but wonder if I’m missing something.
And even more important question in John 9. It says, and talking about spiritual faith:
“Some Pharisees overheard him and said, “Does that mean you’re calling us blind?”
41 Jesus said, “If you were really blind, you would be blameless, but since you claim to see everything so well, you’re accountable for every fault and failure.”
Wouldn’t this mean that those who are spiritually blind are not at blame? If they don’t recognize God, are they blameless?
2. I can’t seem to get off of John 10. Verse 34 Jesus tells us that in the Psalms (82:6), God calls us gods. That is strange enough, but it brings up the question to me, what is the definition of a god?
