Dr. Mitra is a professor in the Interdisciplinary Studies program and certificate facilitator in Design Thinking and Museum Studies at Union Institute & University. Dr. White is a newly credentialed alumni of Union’s Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Studies program. Tami’s research focus examines the intersection of diabetes and incarceration through visual representations.
Their guest today is Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy. He is currently the faculty director of Calstate LA's BA program at Lancaster state prison and The Words Uncaged program at Lancaster State Prison, Mule Creek State Prison and CMC Prison. He will discuss what led him to work with the incarcerated population, Words Uncaged, the art-making practices of those imprisoned and so much more.
