This week Chris Reid, CEO of Ekona Power, and Brian Lee, award-winning patent attorney and partner at Gowling WLG, join Cleantech Forward to discuss the future of hydrogen technology, current barriers to mass hydrogen adoption, and the role IP protection plays in a competitive space like hydrogen.

Chris Reid is the CEO of Ekona Power, and is a technology and business leader with 25 years of experience developing energy and hardware technology ventures. Chris has a M.A.Sc., University of Victoria, IESVIc, and a B.Sc., University of Manitoba, Mechanical Engineering.

Brian Lee is a partner based in Gowling WLG's Vancouver office and co-manages the firm's Beijing office and China practice. He is the previous head of the Vancouver office's Intellectual Property Group and a previous co-chair of the office's Technology Industry Group. Brian is heavily involved in patenting clean energy technologies, particularly hydrogen and fuel cell technologies, and was previously in-house counsel at a local fuel cell company and a director of the Canadian Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Association.
