Mr. Mercado over 3 years has dedicated his volunteer service in advancing and preserving the legacy of the Borinqueneers on the social media platform. He is the grandson of a Borinqueneer and a FDNY EMS 9/11 Responder who through his devotion to his grandfather’s old regiment, has helped cope with PTSD related to his service as a First Responder.
