In today’s continuation of the “Build Your House” series, Pastor Gene emphasizes the critical importance of intentionally building one’s family and personal life on a foundation designed by God. He warns that if we don’t actively shape our own lives and those of our children, the world will impose its own values and principles, leading to confusion, anxiety, and a lack of direction.

Pastor Gene references Proverbs 22:6, highlighting the wisdom in training up children in the way they should go, acknowledging that while this is not a guarantee, it significantly increases the likelihood of a successful, faith-centered life.

He shares personal insights from raising five children, underscoring that despite differing personalities and outcomes, a consistent foundation in faith has kept all his children serving the Lord. Pastor Gene stresses that living out one’s faith authentically and visibly is the most effective way to pass it on to the next generation.

He calls on parents to be committed to their faith, involve their children in church, and maintain a balance between spiritual and worldly activities. He also encourages guiding children’s friendships and continually reinforcing the values and teachings of God in everyday life.

To build a strong, faith-based household, parents must actively live out their faith, involve their children in church life, and consistently teach and model Godly principles. This intentional effort creates a sturdy foundation that will guide children throughout their lives, even through challenging times.
