Mark Call – Parsha “Shoftim” teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa
Manage episode 438793604 series 2564373
Parsha “Shoftim,” (Devarim or Deuteronomy 16:18-21:9) begins with the word “judges,” which His people were to appoint in all their towns. So that they could render “righteous” judgment – essentially a tll.
But that is just the beginning.
John the Baptist was asked (John chapter 1) “Are you The Prophet…?” that Moses spoke of; that prophet “like unto Moses.” But the irony is that the real Salvation of Yah, as His Name attests, has been rejecting by both whoring houses! One because He pointed out their hypocrisy, and the other because He WAS the “prophet like unto Moses,” whom they ‘did away with.’
WARNING: This is another reading you will NOT hear in sun-god-day school. So the fact that His Word is so clear is a big part of the reason why.
ruism – in accord with His Word. And, “justice, JUSTICE, you shall pursue!” too.
Only this world doesn’t. Not even close. And that is why this reading should be such a jarring “eye-opener.”
The Erev Shabbat reading literally lays out the case for how “justice” has been turned upside-down:

And He has quite a bit to say about that as we
Shoftim: “Justice, JUSTICE!” But they hate that “prophet like unto Moses,” even more
