If you though picking the best of a season was touch, how about these of a year which included some 40 guests. Every interview I did boasted great stories but these 6 stood out: There was Mike North, a pioneer in all sports radio in Chicago and a current voice, Mark Silverman from ESPN 1000 who shared his bout with cancer.. Thom Brennaman shared his difficult road back to broadcasting after a gay slur cost him his broadcasting career. Will Perdue, a four time NBA champion (three with the Bulls) discussed the various NBA coaches he played under. Hub Arkush, who recently suffered a severe brain and heart condition but is making a great recovery, remembered how Pro Football Weekly got started and how he had to run the ship at the age of 26.
And the guy with perhaps the story of the year was Dave Revsine, host of the Big Ten Network who once sought a golf game and wound up being paired with one of the most talked about people of the last 50 years!
