If the New Orleans Saints are not able to land a top offensive tackle in the 2024 NFL Draft, defensive linemen like Johnny Newton, Laiatu Latu and Jared Verse could be the surprise selection at 14. If Olu Fashanu, Taliese Fuaga, JC Latham and Troy Fautanu are all off the board at pick No. 14, shoring up the trenches on the opposite side of the ball matches the Saints' typical draft tendencies.

Selecting or even trading up for a cornerback wouldn't be surprising, but it also isn't indicative of a potential move off of Marshon Lattimore. Prospects like Oregon's Khyree Jackson and Louisville's Jarvis Brownlee could make a ton of sense. Meanwhile taking a safety in the second round, particularly Minnesota's Tyler Nubin could be the Saints' surprise pick of the second round.
