Questions answered in the podcast:

  • Can you each take a moment to walk us through your career journey, beginning with college, to provide context for our listeners? Let’s start with you Matt, and then Scott.
  • How to start the conversation of what your finances really look like? (commonality of not even knowing yourself)
  • What are common financial pain points for pre-marriage couples? (e.g. student loans, credit card debt, investment decisions and goals, family planning, life planning goals)
  • What is your plan to handle conflict (around money or really anything) when it does arise?
  • What are your views on premarital therapy?
  • During the pre-marriage planning process - how do you negotiate finances around the wedding planning vs. long-term financial planning?
  • People are waiting longer to get married. What are the hesitations for adults in their 20s and 30s from getting married?
  • This day in age, it is common for people to move for work/jobs, how do you negotiate that process when you have a spouse?
  • How do you know when to stay or take the new opportunity when the other has a career already set where you are currently living? (especially with young professionals)
