Ep. 84 - Parenting a Child with Autism with our Special Guest, Sarah
Manage episode 309949990 series 3043966
Hey friends! Happy Easter yesterday! Here is Nashville we had the MOST beautiful spring weather possible for Easter, and after a dreary couple of days, and it was glorious! We hope you are in a part of the world enjoying beautiful weather as well!
Today’s episode is going to be special, because we are talking with Sarah, a friend of ours. Since April is National Autism Awareness Month, Sarah is joining us to tell her story about her journey of parenting a child with autism. She has a lot of knowledge and wisdom in this area and we are grateful to be able to share her with you! We hope you are as blessed by her story as we were. We talked about Jody Warshawsky, a new “internet friend” of ours, and her podcast ‘Accepting the Unacceptable’. She reached out to us and shared some things we were able to pass along on this episode as well. Please check out her podcast and follow her on Instagram!
We mentioned the Tennessee Early Intervention System, a wonderful program to support parents. And we talked about Madeline Finn and the Library Dog and Bravery Magazine’s Issue Four featuring Temple Grandin, both excellent reads for your kiddos!
From our “I’m Totally Into…” segment:
Sarah is totally into Dough EZ, an awesome tool for any of you gals out there who are bakers!
Jennifer is totally into Perfect Bar - another amazing snack from Costco or grocery stores!
Courtney is totally into Lindsay Brook Designs etsy shop - we will post a picture this week of the cute items from this shop that Courtney and her family wore on Easter!
We hope you enjoyed this week’s chat with Sarah - please reach out to us with any questions you may have for her! We can definitely pass those along. And we’d love to hear from you on Instagram or in the comments below! Have a great week, mamas!
