W. - This study used MRI scans to examine changes in gray matter density in the brains of participants who underwent an 8-week mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) program.
  3. Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy for recurrent depression: A randomized controlled trial (2000) by Segal, Z. V., Williams, J. M. G., & Teasdale, J. D. - This randomized controlled trial investigated the efficacy of mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) as a relapse prevention strategy for individuals with recurrent depression.
  4. The effect of mindfulness-based therapy on anxiety and depression: A meta-analytic review (2010) by Hofmann, S. G., Sawyer, A. T., Witt, A. A., & Oh, D. - This meta-analysis examined the effectiveness of mindfulness-based therapies in reducing symptoms of anxiety and depression across multiple studies.

These studies represent just a small fraction of the extensive research conducted on mindfulness over the years. They contribute valuable insights into the potential benefits of mindfulness practices for mental health, cognitive functioning, and overall well-being.
