In the doping case of former national ice hockey player Yannic Seidenberg, the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) is demanding a four-year ban. NADA confirmed a corresponding report by Bayerischer Rundfunk (BR) to the Sport Information Service (SID) on request.
Seidenberg was temporarily suspended by NADA and his club Red Bull Munich in September of the previous year after a training control had produced "analysis results that deviated from the norm". Testosterone and the substance DHEA were detected in the defender, Olympic silver medalist from Pyeongchang 2018. Since the 39-year-old does not want to accept the ban, NADA is currently preparing an arbitration claim before the German Sports Arbitration Court.
According to information from the ARD radio researcher Sport, Seidenberg asserts his innocence and blames his doctor for the positive sample. There are investigations against the 62-year-old. "Currently, two cases are being investigated in 2021 and in 2022 because of the allegation of intentional illegal prescription of doping substances," said the public prosecutor's office in Freiburg, according to BR.
Seidenberg has played 173 international matches, the three-time German champion and former DEL defender of the year ended his international career in April 2022. If he were suspended, his club career would probably also be over.
