The Recluse follows two journalists, John Mason and Tom Gordon pursuing a former celebrity, Mary Celeste. As her career was beginning to blossom, she suffered a terrible tragedy that forced her to go into hiding. Thirty years later she is finally ready to tell her story.
Upon meeting her, all seems well and the story is a hit. That is until John begins being stalked by something relentless and seemingly unstoppable.
