Lesson Summary:

This week we head deep into Lamanite territory as we follow the Sons of Mosiah on the first leg of their 14 year mission. Ammon will head to the Land of Ishmael and change the heart of King Lamoni, his wife, and many others. We’ll see how men like Ammon and women like Abish work together to live the gospel in a way that draws hearts to Jesus Christ. We’ll also study the rockier missionary road of Aaron and others who try to teach Nehor-like hearts. Ultimately, the Spirit does a mighty work through efforts of these missionaries and the tide starts to turn for the Lamanites.

Questions to Consider:

Alma 17:14 & 21:7-11 | Can Elder Maxwell’s warning about doctrines “going wild” apply to the phrase “wild, hardened, and ferocious”. Is there a progression between those three things? How does distorting doctrine begin that slippery slope?

Alma 18:1-3 | If you compare this witness to the testimony of the man born blind, what similarities do you see? How does Lamoni’s response differ from the Pharisees?

Alma 19:6 | Do you think this light is visible to Ammon or he just senses it from the Spirit? If it is visible, why can’t others see it? What scriptures help you understand this kind of spiritual ultraviolet light?
