Laughing Otter Caring Women joins Dave in solidarity with Vancouver's Lower East Side's February 14 Memorial (established 1991) to remember Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women. They recognize Black History Month by discussing the important civil rights work of Viola Desmond. Laughing Otter Caring Women shares how after 10 years of silence around being trafficked as teen herself, she is breaking the silence speaking out to help protect others. They discuss warning signs to watch for in young people of sex trafficking. Indigenous women are six times more likely to to be murdered than other women living in Canada. Laughing Otter Caring Women shares her experience being cyber bullied and attacked by colonial media. New Zealand's reconciliation process with Indigenous people is identifying as a model for Canada to follow. After discussing the Ottawa Occupation they imagine a world post pandemy. Our relationship with the land and Earth is a major part of moving forward positively.
