It’s the end of the world for some of our characters and their relationships, and for our antipathy for Corey and also possibly for Mary Louise. Renata and Madeline have public breakdowns. Ed has decided to indulge his anger. Principal Nippal has had it with these Shakespearean mothers. Bonnie has a new outlook — or does she? Jane continues her healing process. Celeste has put hers on hold. We find ourselves newly empathetic to Mary Louise, who is just a grieving mother desperately wanting to believe that there was some good in her child while simultaneously being a mouthpiece for rape and abuse culture. Also, did you know that water is a major theme?
