Episode 277: "Discovering the Essentials in Life and Career Journey!"

Greetings, Leaders.

Great leaders desire to make an impact on their life and career journey.

Sometimes the desires for fame, fortune, and pleasure can cloud our vision.

Providentially I discovered something far more significant in value. I found faith in believing there were preordained good works for me to accomplish. My focus shifted from things to serving people and not pursuing the desires I once felt were important.

During this time, I envisioned faith as a little child holding an adult's hand, trusting and relying upon them to reach their destination safely.

Growing faith in life and career is essential to discovering and accomplishing the good works prepared in advance that we should walk in them. Walking by faith is a lesson great leaders learn as they pursue a vision for their lives and careers.

What is your vision? Your faith will be essential in its fulfillment.

Trusting faith may feel strange in its early stages. Faith requires intentional effort and belief, like a child learning to walk for the first time.

In observing the outcomes of faith, it is important to journal the process.

When we do this, we connect the events and the cause and effect of faith in action. Someone says, "It's I who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, fear not, I am here to help you."

Faith allows you to see what others can not and experience what appears to be the impossible.

The great value of faith is that it affects every dimension of our lives; work, social, family, and recreation. Once your faith expands in your thinking, it never returns to its original point. You are continually growing in your ability to believe in more extraordinary works.

Over time, you strengthen your faith and ability to serve more.

I recall my manager asking me to go to a city that I never visited before to serve in an account that, at best, was neutral to our services and be successful in creating a partnership.

Leaving the city where I lived and uprooting myself and my wife to head into the unknown made no sense at the time.

Nevertheless, I sensed a calling to the new city and the opportunity.

We sold our house, even though we had an option to "try things out, and if they don't work, you can come back."

I committed and knew the client needed to know my commitment, so we sold our home and moved to the new city.

In my first meeting, the client said, "I would not want your job. Your company is just another vendor to us."

Five months later, an enormous sales opportunity in my career presented itself, and we needed to be in a favorable position.

What was an impossible situation became possible, and we won the business!

Three lessons I began practicing for the next twenty-plus years that I learned.

1. The one who believes will live by faith.
2. We walk by faith and not by sight.
3. Ask in faith, nothing doubting, and you will receive an answer.

Be on guard. Stand firm in the faith. Be courageous. Be strong. And do everything with love.
