“That 70's Show Pt.2” This is the first time we are airing this show since it was first broadcast nineteen (19) years ago. This broadcast was prior to our country music format. The format consisted of Old Time Radio and music from the Golden Age of Radio, and today we did a 70's show just to show our diversity in music, but country music always found a way into the program as you will see during this program. Note: (That 70's Show was a popular sitcom on TV at this time) Dave begins with pre-show comments. Show open theme then the first song is "Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress", a song by British band “The Hollies.” Next is "Woman from Tokyo", a song by English rock band Deep Purple. Comments from Dave on the show today. We now hear "Don't Call Us, We'll Call You", a hit song by the American rock band Sugarloaf. A show promo by listener Mike Wagner. Listen to “Great Lakes Song” by Pat Dailey. Patches by Clarence Carter released in 1970 is next. Alive 'N Kickin' is an American pop group formed in Brooklyn, New York. Led by singers Pepe Cardona and Sandy Toder, they are best known for their 1970 hit "Tighter, Tighter", which peaked at number seven on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. We hear it now. Next, The song that burst Blondie out of the streets of the Bowery to #1 on the charts, “Heart of Glass” Dave plays a phone call from a sightless listener Sam Ward. He discusses how he accesses The Internet back in the day. Well it took 53 minutes until Dave finally played a country song. "It's Four in the Morning" (also known as "Four in the Morning") is a song made famous by country music singer Faron Young. Released in 1971, the song was his first No. 1 hit single on the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart since 1961. Don't worry, there's more country music later in the program. That's the first 53 minutes, there's 128 more minutes to go! Special Note: Most of the E-Mail, chat room, and web sites mentioned no longer exist. Your best bet to keep in contact with Pioneers Of Country is on Pod-O-Matic or on our Facebook Page. You can now follow Pioneers of Country on Spotify!
