Well, today’s episode is going to give you a taste of it with my special guest and dear friend, Rachael Tvrdy, who is the Director of Family Life for the Diocese of Lincoln. On the heels of completing a Betrayal Trauma Religious Leader Training with the Association of Partners of Sex Addicts Trauma Specialists, Rachael graciously agreed to come on the show and receive coaching in support of her launching a ministry to serve women affected by betrayal trauma.

Coaching is a future-focused collaboration and this session was to help Rachael create more clarity and empower her to begin the work she has so clearly been called to. If you’ve ever had an idea for a personal apostolate or ministry within the church to one day help others, we pray this episode inspires and encourages you to begin in God’s good timing.

APSATS (The Association of Partners of Sex Addicts Trauma Specialists) is a non-profit organization that provides professional training certification and research for partners of addicts and those who treat them. For the purposes of this podcast, the term sex addiction or sex addict is used synonymously with pornography or porn addict, or any compulsory sexual behavior. The model of APSATS differs from other sexual addiction models as it focuses on the traumatic impact of sexual addiction on the partner or spouse. As well, APSATS focuses on empirically researched theories and skills to effectively provide trauma-informed treatment for the partner or spouse.
