In some cultures, psychedelics are known as medicines because they have the ability to open the mind to higher states of consciousness. Podcast co-hosts Ali and Tiarra agree that these substances can be highly beneficial when used properly, but using psychedelics requires proper preparation, support and guidance. Without proper support and preparation, these powerful substances can actually be damaging.

Both Ali and Tiarra have experimented with psychedelics in different ways and share their experiences with some of these substances, including a trip that nearly sent one of the ladies into psychosis. The renewed institutional focus on psychedelics for mental health purposes is also discussed in this episode.
