Emotions can get repressed when we experience something that makes us feel like emotional expression is unsafe - often through adverse childhood experiences. As a result, the mind subconsciously represses emotions to feel safe, but this can lead to issues when we are trying to navigate adulthood.
Repressed emotions can affect the mental state, the psyche and manifest as physical health issues. This is because when we repress, the emotions don't go anywhere, they just show themselves in different ways.
The ladies share what unpacking repressed emotions is like, share their experiences on what caused them and offer ways that anyone can do the same thing.
