Manage episode 445454508 series 3597331
Part 1 of 2: Dwight Lamb from Iowa played the fiddle and accordion. He got the inspiration to play music from his Danish Grandfather, Chris Jerup. After that he played music for the rest of his life all the way to the age of 90. In this podcast you’ll hear the story of how Danish tunes were forgotten in Denmark, but survived in the Midwest, USA. How friendships were built around the music and how the connection was made back to the old country. The first chapter describes the old roots all the way back to Vendsyssel in Northern Denmark. The second chapter focuses on the meeting, friendship and collaboration between Dwight and the Danish folk scene.
