Have you ever created an app before? The women I interview this week has done just that with her husband. This is a whole different kind of business than any other I have featured before. This is a power packed interview with a smart, passionate, high-energy entrepreneur. Lean in and learn all about FitKrasia from Karina Ballantyne! Karina was born to move. An athlete and dancer from as early as I can remember, exercise and movement has always been a source of joy and strength. After graduating from UCSB with a degree in Psychology I chose to pursue personal training as a career to share that joy with others. I moved to Santa Barbara to attend SBCC for two years to study in Exercise Physiology and become certified with the American College of Sports Medicine. I use Foundation Training, Pilates, and Restorative Exercise, to improve the health and wellbeing of my amazing clients. I believe movement is a critical component of optimum mental and emotional health. As a movement educator, my focus is on whole body alignment restoration and habit renovations. As a coach I’ve learned that even the best modalities and techniques don't help people unless they actually do them - consistently! I wanted a smarter way to incentivize my clients (and myself) to create healthier habits for a long lifetime of fitness. In September my husband and I began creating a tool to help empower others to empower themselves. FitKrasia is the result. The game combines tried and tested techniques for positive behavior modification into an easy to play app. With FitKrasia we aim to help people create an environment and lifestyle for improved well-being.
