Facebook vs. Privacy
Manage episode 153588872 series 1094719
In the initial SocIT podcast we discuss how Facebook’s recent privacy policy change removes control of personal data from the user and question the motives of Facebook’s CEO, Mark Zuckerberg.
With the endless expansion of social media, our apparent addiction to Internet, our insatiable appetite for Hollywood gossip and reality TV, one could scarcely argue that privacy is something our society actually desires. Nevertheless, when Facebook makes a change to their privacy policy it’s shock and outrage. Is Facebook’s CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, the advocate of cultural transformation? Have the social norms changed, as he contends, or is he hiding an agenda to te the Internet using our data?
