How do you keep an open heart after heartbreak, grief, trauma, and other painful experiences knowing that more pain is on the way? How do we love others fully and completely and lay bare the most vulnerable parts of ourselves knowing that loss is inevitable?

Ginny and Amanda divulge their own difficulty with this topic, especially Amanda, calling it the "bane of her existence!" The ladies talk openly and candidly about their own experiences with shutting down after traumatic loss and provide excellent tools for you to practice while moving through your own fear of future loss.

Other conversation includes:

  • Connection is the cure for grief, addiction, and other difficult trials of life.
  • Brene Brown's concept "foreboding joy," the definition of it and what happens when we do not allow ourselves to feel joy because we are in fear it will end.
  • Fear of loss is rooted in childhood through emotional abandonment, and we spend the rest of our lives trying to never feel that again.
  • Even though abandonment is something many of us are afraid of, we push people away due to an inability to be emotionally intimate with others (a protection method we used in childhood to keep us safe).
  • It's selfish to keep ourselves in this fear, thereby, inhibiting true connection and love with those who love us.
  • The solution is meeting, knowing, and loving ourselves unconditionally through connecting with source energy (God, Spirit, Universe) so we know deep in our heart we are never truly alone.
  • Limiting our dreams and wishes by throwing up roadblocks and other self-sabotaging behaviors because we are afraid of rejection (aka loss).
  • Breathwork to calm and reset the nervous system as a pathway to reducing stress accompanied by fear of loss.
