Steel is all around us: in our homes, buildings, vehicles and roads. But the challenges of a vulnerable supply chain, pandemic recession, and policies calling for a reduction in carbon emissions have amplified the need to not only grow domestic manufacturing here in the United States, but to do so sustainably, as well. In this episode, host David Kirkpatrick explores those challenges inside a sector that relies heavily on steel, non-residential construction.
Hear from Mike Martignetti, Vice President of Sales for CSC (Canam Steel Corporation), and Ben Trotter, Director of Sales for U. S. Steel as they dive headfirst into the flexibility of steel; why sustainability is so important to not just the future of the industry, but to the world; how much the government is driving these changes; and what we should expect to see for non-residential construction demand in the coming years. They also explore the age-old relationship between U. S. Steel and CSC - they complement each other more than you might think!
Find out more about how important sustainable steel is not just to the US, but to the world in this episode of the Steel Stories by U. S. Steel podcast.
