#12 - Rob Sherman, "Football Super Brain"

This week we welcome Rob Sherman.

Rob is not only a highly regarded football coach, coach educator, and football development super brain, but also a mentor of mine.

Knowing what it takes to make it as an athlete and as a coach, Rob is uniquely positioned to share his insights and advice with aspiring athletes and coaches. Even more so he is a dad to Drew, an ex-athlete and talented coach in his own right.

Rob has a wealth of knowledge and has spent the better part of 20 years designing environments and developing today's leading coaches in NZ and Australia through his roles leading the Football Departments at NZF, Football Australia and Melbourne Victory.

Rob is currently embarking on a new challenge, leading the Bula Boys (Fijian National men’s football team) as he aims to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

From working with players such as Gareth Bale, to winning a Bronze medal at the London Olympics with the Canadian Women's national team, to laying the foundations for the establishment of the club model and advanced coaching courses, Rob has seen it, done that, and got the t-shirt to prove it.

I always leave conversations with Rob with a new idea, a reinforcement of my progress, or with some food for thought. I'm sure you will experience the same.
