hate speech should be legal?

Join us this week as we ramble on finding our way to the differences in what was, if not socially acceptable, at least most would look the other way on and how strange that behavior seems now. That somehow leads us to discussion on free speech and if all speech, including hate speech, should be legal in a free society. So does allowing hate speech to be protecting cause harm to our society or should we protect it, even though we don't agree or like the message and will that become a slippery slope that erodes our freedom of speech?
