A Love Letter to Lucques - 7 True Stories told by 7 Special Guests of Lucques - Part II
Manage episode 442534826 series 2440271
THIS EPISODE ORIGINALLY AIRED ON RADIO IN AUGUST 2020
I am incredibly proud of this episode. Featuring seven guests and just as many collaborators, with six weeks of pre-production, and two weeks of post-production, this episode was our most significant production effort to date.
These stories from the guests are a gift to Suzanne Goin, Caroline Styne, Matt Duggan, and all the staff at Lucques, to let them all know how special they made us feel.

SPECIAL GUESTS
Special Lucques Guest | Michael Oates Palmer - TV Writer & Producer
Michael loves restaurants. He loves dining. He plans trips around food destinations all over the world. He’s a very successful and busy TV writer here in Los Angeles, but when you hear him speak about the people and places he meets in his travels you think, this guy should be a food writer too.
He’s the first guy to call when you need dining recommendations in any city, and one of our all-time favorite occupants of the corner bar seat. - General Manager, Matt Duggan
Special Lucques Guest | Beth Herzhaft - Documentary, Fine Art & Entertainment Photographer
She’s an amazing photographer. She's shot Beck, Radiohead, D’Angelo, Mazzy Star, Alanis Morisette, Herbie Hancock, Steve Buscemi, and Bill Gates.
She’s also helped document some beautiful moments at Lucques.
Bobby Bauer - Film & TV Producer | Director AND - Moke The Roadie in Spinal Tap
Bobby is a veteran writer, producer, and director. He’s even done a series on iconic LA restaurants. He had been dining at Lucques for years. Bobby and his wife Allison’s dinner parties are legendary. Fantastic food and amazing guests.
Peter & Rosie Casey
Peter Casey - An Emmy Award Winning Creator & Producer of such Television hits as The Jeffersons, Cheers, Wings, & Frazier.
Rosie Casey is a Singer | Songwriter - Rosie wrote with partner Kenny Hirsch “How I Love the Rain" for Latoya London.
Peter & Rosie's son Liam, fourteen at the time, ended up working at Lucques for two summers as an intern. On his first night of work, Michelle Obama and her daughters came in.
Chef Suzanne Goin asked Liam to make the salads for the two Obama girls.
Then NBC News showed up and interviewed Liam. Again - On his very first day!
A BIG thank you to General Manager Matthew Duggan for introducing me to each guest for the show. We could never have done this without you, Matt!
