The Chancellor Rachel Reeves committed one of the greatest acts of gaslighting the British public: she claimed in the House of Commons on Tuesday that she and the new Government have been given the worst economic inheritance since the Second World War, and that the Conservatives left behind a £22 billion black hole in the public finances. This is despite the fact that the Conservatives left Labour with the fastest growing economy in the G7 and created the conditions for the Bank of England to drop interest rates for the first time since the pandemic this week.

This week on The Nathan Eckersley Podcast, Nathan analyses Rachel Reeves' economic plan and asks if it is good enough to fix the country's financial issues. He also takes a look at the Conservative leadership race.
