This week, I'm joined by D'Mario Dudley, who along with his longtime creative partner Kenny McClendon, co-founded the groundbreaking, Black-owned streaming service and production company Defiant Digital, an outlet that gives some of today's most entertaining and compelling comedians a space to deliver uncut, uncensored and un-compromised humor through network-quality original programming.

Since debuting in July 2021, Defiant's content has racked up millions of views across its YouTube channel, plus its TikTok and other social media pages. Defiant's growing set of hilarious shows include the topical comic vs. comic courtroom showdown Cancel Court, the multicultural culinary clash Food Fightz, the highly revealing sex and relationship tell-all series TOPS and the more straightforward conversational show Sex, Lies and Games.

Among the comics featured on Defiant: D.C. Young Fly, Haha Davis, Tony Baker, Natalie Friedman, Watch Jazzy, Chris “CP” Powell, Ryan Davis, Teresa TopNotch, Teddy Ray, Elsaaa Baby, Patrick Cloud, and Ron Taylor.

Comedy aside, Defiant Digital is also branching out into the serious world of drama - first with its powerful short film thriller Junior, written by and starring Marcus Dupree in an intense story of a police detective whose accidental killing of a young boy drives his vengeful ex-prisoner father (played by Dupree) to seek revenge on him - and his young son.

This outstanding content, and the many ways that Defiant is providing a platform for comedians to express themselves without fear of censorship, are among the many things that D'Mario and I talk about on this week's podcast, and I'm honored to have him join me now as we take a look inside Defiant Digital.
