In the first part of the programme, Fartun Mohamed of the UN Population Fund (UNFPA) tells us about the impact of FGM on girls and families. She also explains the work of UNFPA in supporting Somali authorities and communities in the eradication of FGM. Our second guest, Muna Abdiweli from the Jubaland Police Force’s Gender Office, speaks about the police’s engagement with communities to prevent FGM and the assistance offered by her office to victims.
